The beauty of Marriage

I remember when I used to get jealous when going to a wedding. Sometimes I was even mad at God. I was so specific on what I thought my future husband was going to be like and ofcourse...I didn't find him for a long time. The fact was, I didn't need to search to find. But before I realised that, I was frustrated and sometimes sad. I remember one time leaving a wedding early, crying in my car asking God why it was so difficult for me to be alone.  I so desperatly wanted someone to share my heart with on a deeper level and be a team for God. God learned me to be alone with Him and to be honest He is still learning me this on another level.

But nowadays I don't cry on weddings (except when it's soooo emotional). I know for a fact that God is in control and I don't need to be frustrated, or anxious, or scared, because God will work this out. And this saturday was one of the best weddings everrrr! A good friend on mine got married and it was such a blessing to be a guest. I helped the photographer out with some details and putting the dress in order before the pictures where taken. I tried her cam for a minute...if there was one thing I got jealous about on this wedding it has to be that camera. Canon 5D mark II with an awesome lens.

But yeah...I didn't really have the time to make pictures so I didn't make that many pictures. Which I (deeeeeeply) regret now. And I am normally a person of commitment but I'm sorry that I want to divorce from my camera...it's just not working for me. I don't really have a big budget but I'm looking around for a cam that will fit me better than this one.

But for whats worth, here some shots. Enjoy.

 

Dreamers

Sometimes I wonder. Is it true that we can live out our dreams? If we would really try? Although I am firmly convinced we are to chase our dreams, I'm not sure we can all get what we want. I just hope and pray my dreams are Gods dreams and He will help me live them.

But I do get encouraged when I bump into someone who actually is a dream chaser and is living it out. It just gives me such a boost to not give up my dreams and visions of life.

Let me introduce Nadia Meli (see below). I just got to know her today (not in person, although I am sure I would have some good conversations with her, as her vision is almost same as mine). Somebody who actually is commenting on my blogs has introduced her work to me. I just get so inspired by people who live their dream. And this photographer is doing it so well. The lights, the moments, the love are just dwelling out of her work. It is the reflection of what I would love to do. Although of course I do want to develop my own handwriting. But I love it how she too believes LOVE is the most important thing in life and surely life is too short to hesitate. If we have the chance we should grasp it. But for now I have to do it with my dreams. I'm actually writing out a plan for my future. I do want to develop in photography and I am very aware I need to learn a lot and need training (and a new & better cam...anyone feeling generous?), but I also want to do more in graphic design and styling (love to do bridal styling in the sence of styling a wedding). The last two I am convinced I've learned enough about to use for work...the first one...hummm I need to train it in order to make a good living out of it. But as I said...I'm dreaming, praying and hoping these plans are God's plans.

Beautiful Treasures

Home for 1,5 week now. I miss the US like crazy. I miss my love like crazy. Aaron is THE most wonderful man I've ever met. It's a funny lovestory and I'll tell more of how Aaron and I met and how our story began when I'm updating my weddingposts! Now here are some pictures of my favorite items I brought back from the states and some random pics of my room, because it's nice to just make random shots of stuff :) 

On the left my favorite shoes of the moment. Bought them at Nordstorm in the US. Dress on the right...plain old H&M :)

 I have been thinking a lot about photography lately. Before I started again about 2 months ago I hadn't picked up my camera seriously for years. Now that I have, I'm falling in love with it yet again. So when  I was in the US I right away ordered some books from amazone. These books make me happy!

 Got the Jesus shirt and the top at  Forever21 I had never heard of the store before (haven't been much outside of dutch borders yet).

 Working a lot on our Wedding the last few days. Our whole relationship is quite the labor. Aaron living in the US and me living in Dutchieland. But still we manage and we will manage. God is good!

And then my first weddinginvitations! Made them for friends of mine who are getting married in september. They worked out quite well. If you are in any need of weddinginvitations just give me a message! Working on my portfolio so I have cheap prices for them :) (I do a lot of graphic design at my work).

Beautiful Wedding Inspirations

 Looking for some wedding inspiration? I know I have been. I didn't believe in the perfect wedding until I came along these blogs and webpages. I've seen the wedding light now!

 Here are my top 5 inspiration sources.

Blogs;

1. 100 Layer Cake is one of my favorite blogs. The (wedding) inspiration is endless. I wasn't into weddings until their blog converted me. From interior to fashion, from photography to movies. Awesome locations and great DIY weddings. Absolutely love their creative spirit and input!

2. The brooklyn bride is a great wedding inspiration blog. I esspecially like the way she has her catogories up so you can easily skip from DIY projects to Photography & Videos. Also lots of graphic design inspiration (for invitations or menu's). Also great engagementshoots with city influences. Great!

3. Alice Mahran Photography; this young woman has an eye for beauty. I love her I-want-to-capture-beauty attitude. She does not rely on what you should know about photography....she just does photography. And I think the best way to see if things work, is to do it. Love her images, they captivate me. 

4. The Velvetine team is an inspiration for me. These young woman just got started. With their love and passion for "love for life". They believe in "love for life" and "two people making a choice for eachother". So I don't only love they way they do photography but I also share their vision of making a life long commitment to one another. Love is always a good feeling, it's a choice. Their blog has some good inspiration from all around the globe!

5. The Wedding Chicks is a very recent discovery. Dresses, locations, photography inspiration, DIY, recipes they got it all! Also take notice of their Free Printables area, with photocards, save the dates and much more.
